Cross the Bridge!

It’s 5:00 a.m., time to get up, get dressed and head to the gym.

Ughhhhhh! It’s dark and kinda cold out… I’ll go tomorrow, besides who will know if I don’t go.

Stop it! You promised, now GET UP!

But this bed is soooooo warm, plus I need to throw a round of laundry in before work.

Hey now, it’s short season and vacay is right around the corner. Oh yeah, on that note, I gotta get up…right now!

You see, this is my brain on any given day. Now don’t start thinking I’m crazy – I’m just being honest. People need honesty, especially in today’s world where we are bombarded with stories and images of people having overnight success. People need to honestly SEE what true discipline looks and feels like.

What we see on the web, on tv, and in the magazines is all FAKE. Yes, your fave celeb may have dropped 60 pounds, but they also have a team of trainers and world class chefs at their side 24- hours a day. And let’s not forget the endless supply of makeup artists, personal stylists and PR reps, whose sole job is to make your fave celeb look their best at all times.

Jealous, nope not at all. It’s just time to offer up a dose of real reality, not that stuff that’s made for TV! Sorry BRAVO. Discipline looks and smells like good old- fashioned hard work.

For example…

~Discipline is up early in the morning and up late in the night.

~Discipline is strict, heavy and uncomfortable.

~Discipline can feel lonely and unattractive.

~Discipline requires you to practice and rehearse and practice and rehearse some more.

~Discipline requires your time and patience.

~Discipline is fail…try again. Fail…try again. Fail some more…and try again.

~Discipline is cooking at home when everyone else is eating out.

~Discipline is paying your bills on time and forfeiting that brand new bag you’ve been eyeing forever.

~Discipline is just CHOOSING between what you want NOW and what you want MOST!

I hope I didn’t scare you, because the result of discipline is SUCCESS!

Allow me to encourage you to press forward towards achieving your goals TODAY. Don’t wait for tomorrow…do something TODAY that will bring you one step closer to achieving your dream and goals! Don’t give up and don’t give in!

~The ability to DISCIPLINE yourself to delay gratification in the short term in order to enjoy greater rewards in the long term is the indispensable prerequisite for success.
